do2009-05-18 09:31:45ending the jqs.exe Java Quick Starter Service resulted in reduced processor cooling fan noise. I first noticed three BHO - browser objects in IE6 Tools Settings View objects and deleted two, then stopped jqs.exe in TaskManager in XP Pro, w SP3. Just delete the extra objects in your browser, then after restart be certain you can still run java by going to test website at sun.com it is www. java.com/en/download just click on Test my JVM
DAOWAce2009-05-27 01:14:31The first release of the JQS caused Internet Explorer to delay 5 seconds on opening. This was fixed in the next Java update. This feature of Java is only recommended to those with very slow computers (5400 RPM drives).
