Solution 3: Windows 10/11 Connected User Experience and Telemetry Service should be turned off.

Microsoft announced that it will stop collecting data about you via the Windows 10/11 “Connected User Experience” feature starting April 11. This change affects both Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft says that it will still collect some information, such as usage metrics, crash reports, and diagnostic logs. However, it will no longer send personal information like your name, email address, IP addresses, device identifiers, and browser type to third parties.

The reason behind this decision is because Microsoft wants to focus on improving the quality of its products rather than gathering data about how people use them. In addition, the company claims that there are privacy concerns regarding the collection of personal information.

If you want to disable the “Connected User Experience,” you must do so manually. You can find instructions here.

You can also disable the telemetry service. To do so, open up the Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telemetry. Here, you’ll see a DWORD value named EnableDataCollection. If it’s set to 0x1, the telemetry service is disabled; otherwise, it’s enabled.

To make sure that you’re not accidentally enabling the telemetry service again, you can check whether it’s enabled by opening the Registry Editor and navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\microsoft\windows\currentversion\telemetry. If the key doesn’t exist, the telemetry service isn’t enabled.

This article explains how to turn off the telemetry service.
